Dominique nichole hairston
"The Artist"

Dominique Nichole Hairston is an up and coming talented young artist.  A native of Savannah, Georgia, she now resides in the metropolitan area of Atlanta, Georgia. Early in her educational years Dominique was identified as having ADHD, but has never let that be a drawback to excel in the thing she loves the most--her art.  Except for a few years, she was educated in the Fayette County School System. She is attending the Atlanta Technical School Preparatory Academy, and has plans to further her training in art.  At a very young age Dominique displayed an exceptional creative talent in the visual arts.  She had an affinity for drawing, often using anything she could find to make drawings inspired by television cartoons. She would create anything from articles left around the house.  Her mother had a strong interest in design and drawing as well, and she frequently drew with Dominique.  She would often collaborate with her mom with various projects.  Her creative talent continued to blossom as she grew older to still find ways of using a wide array of mixed medium for creativity in her art pieces. She is motivated when listening to various music genre.  Her work can be considered eclectic, and has been inspired by classical artists like  Pablo Picasso, Vincent VanGogh, Claude Monet, and Henri Matisse.  More modern artist such as Takashi Murakami, Frida Kahlo, Salvador Dali, Yayoi Kusama, Keith Herring, Andy Warhol, and her favorite artist Jean Michel Basquiat can also be seen in her artwork. She has been inspired to write by reading Langston Hughes, and Maya Angelou She is proud of her Haitian, Dominican and African-American heritage in which you will find as a theme in many of her pieces of art. She is also a published author, illustrator and photographer.
